Not everyone is interested in owning their own home business, but a lot of people are interested in dropping out of the rat race a little bit. More and more jobs are available where you can work from home. And since your productivity will probably be better working from home, you’ll probably make more money. The other advantage is that it doesn’t cost as much money to work from home, since you no longer have commuting expenses, lunches out expenses, or the same clothing expenses. These are big advantages.
Just because you don’t want to own your own home based business doesn’t mean you can’t work from home. All it involves in a change in mindset and some effort.

If you’re interested in learning more about this way of thinking, there are a few books you should probably take a look at. I highly recommend Joe Dominquez’s book Your Money or Your Life. This book will give you a completely different perspective on how much money you’re making driving to and from your 9-to-5 every day.
Tip! Don’t give up. It took me months to find a real work at home job, and I have still searched, either to see what else is out there, if there is something more I would like to do, if I could make more.
Another pair of great books are Die Broke and Live Rich, which are both written by Stephen Pollan and Mark Levine. These two books will also help you redefine your own personal ideas about work and how it fits into your life.
Recommendations About Working from Home
It would be relatively easy at this point to list several work-at-home job opportunities and call this a finished article, but the reality of the 21st century workplace is that telecommuting and working from home are becoming more and more commonplace. And almost ANY job can be done from home now.
My recommendation to anyone who wants to switch to a work at home job is to talk with your current boss about whether or not you can be allowed to work from home. A broad minded boss with her finger on the pulse of the business realities today will understand that if she can’t accommodate your work from home request, then you’ll probably find someone else who will.
If that doesn’t work out, all you have to do is start looking for work. Any of the many get a job or find employment sites out there are going to have work from home jobs available as well as more traditional jobs. All you have to do is seek them out.
Tip! Legitimate ? backed by a well-respected multi-million dollar US corporation, there’s no question that the company and scouting are both as legitimate as legitimate gets, and should be seriously considered as a viable work at home opportunity. Scouting is very a well-respected profession.
Another Look at Owning Your Own Business
But don’t rule out starting your own home based business either. Many people find this more satisfying than working for someone else, and they wind up making more money than they ever thought possible. That was my experience, and it was also my wife’s.
As far as I’m concerned, the best work from home job is the one where you’re your own boss.
The author of this article works from home, and owns and operates a website about paid surveys, where you can read reviews of some paid survey websites like Survey Scout and Survey Platinum.
Many businesses are in search of a large number of potential employees. Here, a work-from-home lead can be very helpful for individuals and businesses. It is a type of service that can give the businesses a direct link to potential employees, since it maintains a database of employees. By sharing email address, a job seeker can get in contact with potential employers.
The work from home leads services usually come with a website. When visitors enter this site, they can fill out an online form that requires an email address, name, phone number, and perhaps some other details. This information is then shared with business organizations that have paid for work from home leads. Most businesses seeking this type of service need to work from the privacy of home.
By using the work from home lead, a business can easily and directly contact the interested parties. The business usually sends an email promoting their business or makes a phone call to the interested people. The reply rate of the individual depends on how the business utilizes their work from home lead service.
Most services charge only monthly fees, but some charge for each single information that is given. This exclusively depends on how much the business is wishing to spend. Today, many businesses invest large amounts of money in this type of service. However, some companies find that work from home lead doesn’t work for them.
There are different work from home leads services on the Internet. Before choosing a lead service, make sure that that service is genuine. At the same time, the services should ensure that the company does not send spam to potential consumers. Also avoid dealing with companies and individuals with whom you are uncomfortable.

Tip! There are great resources online for work at homers. One particular forum is WAHM (actually a message board), listed under telecommuting moms, however anyone who wants to telecommute can join.
During my four years of working from home I have learned a lot about where to find work, how to find work and what is actually work and what is a business. With so much to learn though it can be difficult to know where to begin. That is why I came up with these 10 tips.
Work At Home Books. Specializing In Work @ Home EBook(R)s And Hard Cover Books.
1. Never pay for a job, you should not have to pay someone just for the opportunity to work for or with them. Now this does not mean it doesn’t cost anything to start working from home, it may, depending on equipment, what you need to do the job, like software, and if you have to pay for a background check or to be incorporated. However if you are ever confused about an expense, ask the company directly for an explanation and check the company out on the Better Business Bureau or Ripoff Report.
2. Ask people you know, or local companies if they have work at home contractors (people paid to work, but not considered employees) or if they hire for working at home, you may even be able to ask your own boss if you are currently working outside the home.
3. Keep track of who you contact, who you speak to, when you apply, and other information like this, that way you will always know where and if you have applications out at different companies.
4. There are great resources online for work at homers. One particular forum is WAHM (actually a message board), listed under telecommuting moms, however anyone who wants to telecommute can join. These people have been on these boards for quite awhile and have also been around the block as far as finding scams and finding real work for home.
Tip! Rewarding ? few things are more rewarding than having your own successful work at home situation. Being completely in charge of your time and your paycheck, and wonderfully satisfying both requirements by being 100% in control, is a real eye-opening revelation for the average person.
5. Consider an at home business. These days there seems to be a market for everything. If you are good at one particular hobby, or trade, advertise yourself, and make money that way. Be careful to follow local laws and regulations though. Also remember the internet is often a great place to advertise and is many times free.
6. If you are really desperate, you may not be able to be picky from the get go. Accept what comes your way, because often times, it is the bottom of the barrel and you can work your way up.
7. Ebay is a great site to start with, anything laying around your house? List it. Got an information product, write it up and sell it.
8. Stay on track. Once you get hired or contracted it is time to be your own boss. This means you can work when you want, and not work when you do not want to. Unfortunately if you are trying to find work from home, you probably need the money, and therefore should not have too much time off. Remember there is always a reason not to work, just don’t let them all get to you.
9. Check local colleges or vocational centers for training for work at home jobs. Occupations like medical transcription and billing, legal transcription, proofreading, and editing can be done at home, there is also the option of getting certified for a day care center.
Tip! Profitable ? if you ask the average person to describe a situation in which they could comfortably work at home part-time and have a legitimate way to create an extra $30,000 to $300,000 per year working a couple of hours a day, not many can beat property scouting as a truly viable answer.
10. Don’t give up. It took me months to find a real work at home job, and I have still searched, either to see what else is out there, if there is something more I would like to do, if I could make more.
Now that you know how to get started in your quest to work from home you might want to find a list of companies that hire telecommuters. Check out this link on Squidoo, and if you want more information, ideas and tips about working from home, visit my website The At Homer.
It seems like there’s a new Work From Home Opportunity launching every week now. I’ve seen some priced as low as five dollars, and others going for many thousands of dollars. No one can complain of a lack of variety, but unfortunately, the quality and overall value of some of these business opportunities is definitely lacking.
Today the number of new Internet users is growing constantly, so there is always a new pool of people looking for a Work At Home program. I’ll bet a large percentage of adult Internet users would love to be able to stay at home and make a living working on their computer. With such a large pool of potential users, selling Home Business programs will always be a lucrative business .
Passport To Wealth CEO Darren Gaudry has just opened the doors of his most advanced Home Based Business to the public. MyInternetBusiness.com is a radical new Home Business program that is being deployed in a number of phases stretched out over several years. MyInternetBusiness, a huge Home Business system, is hoping to take a dominant position in this exponentially growing industry.
MyInternetBusiness.com is not an entirely new concept as it borrows ideas from Passport To Wealth and several other high profile programs. Darren Gaudry has taken the best parts of these different Home Business programs and molded them into a new business system that is setting extremely high expectations. With the number and variety of modules the MyInternetBusiness Program uses, the company would appear to be a very serious long-term competitor in the high-ticket sector.
One factor in deciding which Home Business to invest in is the sustainability of the program. Every one of these work at home programs seems to have a finite life cycle. After all the hype of the launch has died down, some programs go on to make very good money for some of the members. This may last for a year, or even two years occasionally, but rarely does a Home Based Business Opportunity last any longer than this. That is the big challenge for any new program - how to prove viable for it’s members for more than a year or two.
Niche domination for a Home Business program is only possible if the program is innovative and not shy about borrowing better ideas from other systems. A program that is always evolving and improving, always adding extra pieces to get better, is a program that will survive. Meanwhile a stagnant Home Based Business will soon run it’s course and fade away. The business that refuses to change it’s business model and absorb good ideas from other businesses, will very often be tossed aside on the launch of a new Home Business.
Darren Gaudry and the management of MyInternetBusiness.com have built their program to avoid suffering a similar fate. MyInternetBusiness has a solid core program that is easy for members to setup and run. Then, over the next few months and even years, advanced modules will be added to the main program. With these new modules added, the program management is sure they can keep their business on top of the Home Business niche for a long time.
For current program members this is ideal of course, as members will gladly carry on marketing and selling their Home Business. After all, isn’t that why we join a Home Based Business - we all want to make some extra money. When you’re a member of a great program and dominating your niche, you’ll eagerly continue your promotion, selling and banking your money.
You probably get one of these in your email a week. Sign up for free or for a few of them a fee, and you will soon earn a steady income just filling out surveys. It is true that people used to make money doing this. Not enough to quit there jobs and pay there bills but $30-$100 or more a month. With the influx of people surfing the internet trying to get a buck anywhere they can, this is no longer the case. If it were that easy to make money everyone would quit there jobs and do it and companies wouldn’t be making much money. The sites are still there, but now most of them put you in a raffle to earn “cool stuff” not money. Other’s will put you in a raffle to some money. But what are the chances of you winning. And what are the chances of you winning more than once a year? That is not steady income. The ones that do say they will pay you, up up $30 or more for a survey, leave something out. You will sit and wait for that email telling you that you have a survey, but you more than likely will never get one. Or even better you get one, and after filling out 3 or 4 questions such as age, sex, location, and yearly salary, you will quickly find out your not what there looking for. Other’s will slam your email with surveys that pay 10 cents if your lucky. At the end if you can get even $20 a month on surveys then your still stuck, because many will only mail out checks of $25-$100 dollars, so it would be months before you get the money, IF you get it at all.
There are companies out there who you will apply free to work for them as a customer service rep, from your home. It seems legitimate because you didn’t have to pay a fee, the website looks professional, which it usually is and you’ll be earning an income and you don’t have to sell anything. The fine print is, you have just applied to be a telemarketer. I myself just last year read over the entire site and in the end all the information and FAQ informed me that I would be making no cold calls, or outgoing calls. I would be taking incoming calls from people who are customers. That much was true. However the last phone call between me and my representative/manager I am informed that I will need to pay $29.99 a month for the phone fees and but I’ll make it back with my commissions. Fee and commissions all in the same sentence about a job that wasn’t telemarketing. Yes I would be receiving calls from customers, and I would be getting a salary but what you don’t find out til you apply and are accepted is that you will be making maybe $2.00/hr if your lucky and you will be trying to get a bigger income by pushing extra products on there customers who are calling for help. You also don’t know that when the customer calls and goes down the line of being transferred to you, they are already inundated with so many product ads from other phones workers and automated wait commercials that they will be cursing a blue streak at you, and good luck making an income. There are actually a handful of companies online who are hiring customer service reps. But just like the true typist jobs, many want someone with experience. They don’t want someone who can’t take care of their customer. And there are others who will train you if you have no experience but are someone they are looking for. There are a few, but it’s hard finding them amid all the telephone job scams out there.
You pay a sometimes huge fee and you can be making money in minutes. Or so they claim. Many of these sites are just selling you an ebook “telling” you how to start your own no fail work at home business. The website is filled with pictures of people on the beach, and yacht’s having fun. There are the testimonials from people who they say already bought the book and made so much money in a short time. All you need to do is press the x on your browser and get off that site. The only person who is going to make money is the one selling that expensive ebook. There are books out there with real information that will help you. But people have to remember that the internet is big and most of these sites are selling what you can find for free other places. Plus starting an internet business is not easy and it’s not quick. For some it took years before they really started earning an income that allowed them to live comfortably. For others they had to quit after losing hundred’s of thousands of dollars. Online business creation companies will make you a website and tell you your good to go. You only have one problem, it’s not hard to create a website, there are billions of them. The biggest problem of any internet business is getting traffic and sales. Neither happen overnight even with the best website and product.
There are ads all over from the hundred’s that come up in search engines to the dozens that are emailed to you on any given month.
10. Craft Assembly
Even as I was doing research for this article I came across a message board where many people were responding to an ad that went like this:
“Work from home, no experience necessary. Make over $3000 a month.” Medical transcription is actually a legitmate business but it takes a lot of hard work to get it going. The ads will tell you how easy it is. You pay them and mostly get a floppy disk or papers and that’s it. All you find out is that you need to call doctor’s offices to see if any of them will hire you. The fees are usually outrageous as well anywhere from $300 to well over $1000 for there “software” and just like the data entry, it’s the only thing you can use. There are real places hiring transcriptionists online, however the no experience rule you see some advertise is a good indicator that they are a scam. You need experience, you need to know all of the coding and medical language. Would you want someone typing up your file who doesn’t understand what there typing, and make key mistakes that could endanger your life? It should also be noted that the scammers have also extended the scam by creating “schools”, for you to pay them and get a degree by doing a home course which is actually not a real certificate. To become a real certified Medical Transcriptionist you need to go to American Association for Medical Transcription and read all about the Medical Transcription Certification Program (MTCP).Work At Home! Make Crafts For cash!
Are you looking to work from home doing assembly, crafts, sewing or making jewelry, and getting paid for it? Start earning money from home today!”
I was so very disturbed to see over 50 people giving out there emails while begging for more information on this. Stay away from it unless you have done the work of really checking a company out and even then I would pass, because there are simply only a handful that are legitimate and I have NEVER even stumbled across them as of yet.
Craft Assemly, I saved the worst for last because the ones who run these ads online and offline, are right at the bottom of the scum bucket. There are 3 types of scammers for this one.
Crappy Materials - With all 3 types of companies it is usually the same.
Type1 sends out an ad. You respond to the ad and they want money from you, but don’t worry it’s “refundable”. The amount of money is many times over a $1000, and they will tell you it’s to weed out the people who aren’t serious as well as to cover the cost of the materials. You will need to get expensive equipment such as a sewing machine or a machine to make signs. You of course have to get everything from their company because they need to make sure that you are using only the finest materials and equipment. You get the package and the materials are crap to say the least, the instructions are hardly understandable and you are left struggling to up together the dolls, aprons, crafts and other items. Your only problem is many of these so called “companies” are a P.O. Box which the owners have closed up and moved on. You are left with products that you will probably toss or have to sell yourself. End result all they were selling were the machines, that’s where these people make there money from, not the “crafts” they want you to build.
Tip! Check local colleges or vocational centers for training for work at home jobs. Occupations like medical transcription and billing, legal transcription, proofreading, and editing can be done at home, there is also the option of getting certified for a day care center.
Type 2 is the same except you send them in the products and they tell you that the product is not up to there standards. They are right, after all with the shoddy materials they sent who can make a quality item? Congradulations, they have your money and that’s about it. End result, they too have your money from the products you “had” to buy only from them.
Type 3 well, they are simply the worst of this little trinity. Everything goes the same as type 1 except that they might actually send good materials. You send back the finished product and you get a response saying that the product isn’t up to there standards. Unlike Type 2, the product is usually good and they sell it, while they make you think they tossed it in the garbage because it was just so awful. They have the money from the machines and your crafts and you get the unpleasant experience of being scammed.
There they are for now. Unfortunately there are so many scams out there that was only the tip of the iceberg. The best advice I can give is to use common sense. If someone is telling you that you will make $10,000 a month, shut the door in there face, close the webpage, or hang up on them. Also be very wary of an ad that promises a lot but gives you virtually no information on what you are supposed to be doing.
Tip! Don’t give up. It took me months to find a real work at home job, and I have still searched, either to see what else is out there, if there is something more I would like to do, if I could make more.
Please feel free to add my article to your website, forum, blog, newsletters and other ventures if you leave it in full format. If used in a newsletter please send it to me that I may view where my work is going. Thank You.
Tip! Legitimate ? backed by a well-respected multi-million dollar US corporation, there’s no question that the company and scouting are both as legitimate as legitimate gets, and should be seriously considered as a viable work at home opportunity. Scouting is very a well-respected profession.
1. Envelope stuffing
Earn $300-$800 a week and more!!!! So easy, no experience necessary. However we need to make sure that only serious workers apply so there will be a “one-time fee for the enrollment costs are well as material that we will send you to mail out. Send a SASE to this address and start earning today!
Does that sound familiar? To begin with I will tell you that if you see this or anything like it run a mile away. Do not think that this sounds good and it’s only a measly $29.99 so I can afford to lose that if it’s a scam. Just say to yourself, “It is a scam.” Envelope stuffing has been around for decades and while they have slowly evolved, it is always the same. Just think for a second, why would any want to pay you $2-$4 to stuff an envelope and pay you over $500 a month or more, when they can buy themselves a machine that will stuff the envelopes for them? The machines are a few hundred dollars. In the long they would actually save money, by not paying someone else to stuff them.
How the scam works: You see an add similar to the one I wrote above. You send in the “small” fee which can be anywhere from $5 up to $100 or more. You sit at home waiting for your package thinking that you can put those brochures, pamphlets or postcards. The only thing your usually getting is a one page instruction telling you to put the same ad in a newspaper and wait for some sucker to grab the bait like you did. There are also the one in which you are told to send $1 to everyone on a list, usually 5 people, put your name in the first slot and take off the #5 name and send out these letters to those people. You will then be getting all these people sending you $1, and before you know it you’ll be a millionaire. No you won’t, do I have to tell you this is a scam? A scam that long ago moved onto the internet and is now usually played with sites such as Paypal, and Stormpay. Same scam different twist. You just send $1 or more to these 5 or 10 accounts and you will soon have money flooding into your Paypal account. Scam. This to me is just another for of MLM. Which is another scam to flush your money down the toilet.
“Lose 40 pounds in less than a month. Feel better with this miracle juice. Tone up with this miracle cream etc, etc?..Once you try it, you will love it and even better if you get others to sign up under you; you can make thousands a month.”
This dear friends is known as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM). There are so many that I can’t get through even 1% of them. The usual basis of MLM is you see some product which is often, not worth the money, untested, unproven that you will get the results it claims to give you, and most importantly it might be dangerous. Just think, would you buy a bottle of green juice off someone on a street corner because they claim it will make you shed 100 pounds? Now the MLM I will talk about here is the “product” scam. This one is you are buying a product or joining up to work for them selling there product. If you buy the product they will tell you that you can get rich if you get others to sign up. You will be there sponsor and when they join to sell you 40% of the product price and if you sign up another you get 20% of there product price and so on. Or you need to sign up for the gold or platinum membership and make even more money, just $199.99 or more and don’t worry you’ll make that money back in no time. I’ve even seen some so ridiculous due to the fact that your purchasing all these products to try and make even more money, not realizing your losing money or at least no making any, just paying a little less for the less than worth it so called miracle product. The other part of a product scam is your not using or even buying it, your trying to make money solely by getting others to sign up. All those ads you see? On tv, cheap magazines, free newspapers, email and all over the web, well those are the people trying to get YOU to sign up and make them a commission. All you will be doing is trying to recruit more and more people to sell this product and earn some money. Some do it, but it’s very difficult and over 90% are scams.
Tip! Check local colleges or vocational centers for training for work at home jobs. Occupations like medical transcription and billing, legal transcription, proofreading, and editing can be done at home, there is also the option of getting certified for a day care center.
3. Data entry/Claim Processing/Name Compiler
There are many other names for this. The whole point of it is to work at home as a typist/data entry worker. These people usually claim that they have so much work that they need help and its cheaper to get someone to work from home than to hire another computer or expand there onsite business. In these scams there is always a fee for the application which can be $30-$1000’s. Yes thousands. The companies will claim that to do there work you need to buy their special software. You can’t download it or buy it anywhere else, it has to come from them. And once again you will make back your money in no time. Yeah, sure you will. Just think of how fast you would make back that money if you flushed it down the toilet. Unlike some of these scams there are real work from home jobs for typists. They usually will not charge you to join. Just think about it. Why would you pay someone to let you work for them? Think about you going on a job interview, they tell you that you have the job, but they just need $300 and then you can start. Most of us would leave in a hurry. But for some reason reading it on paper seems to make sense for too many unwitting victims. I personally know more than 15 companies that hire typists and pay them to actually type. I filled out some applications and read the requirements for others. I was disappointed but pleasantly surprised to learn there were requirements and that I was turned down for the job. Most legitimate companies need workers who can type more than 60-80 wpm or even more kps (keys per second). As well as someone who actually has 2 years or more of experience usually as a secretary or administrative assistant.
Name compiler is scam #1 all over again. Instead of stuffing envelopes, you are sent materials, after you pay the fee of course, which will tell you to post the same ad you responded to all over the net in hopes of getting others to sign up. Your just spamming others and that’s it. No companies pay for a compiler anymore because it can be done electronically now, so theres no need for a compiler/typist for this sort of job.
The worst is the claim or payment processor. What they will have you do is not just unethical but it’s usually an illegal operation they pull innocent people into. Most won’t even know it until it’s too late. This scam works on many levels. If you answer the ad through email they can put malware on your computer steal your identity and sell it on the black market. You will be lured into thinking you are processing claims for a legitimate foreign company and will receive %20 or more commission on each payment processed. You then have to wire the money from your bank, western union or money gram. You are actually handling counterfiet money orders and/or check. You will have a lot to process as they need you to send as many as possible quickly before the bank or police find out and stop it. You are working for them, but your actually laundering money and all you will end up with is being an unwitting victim of a very big crime. With the criminals overseas you will be left holding the bag. There was a story about a woman who is facing charges on a similar scam. The twist? She is the victim. I feel that since the prosecutors can’t get the real criminals well, she’s taking the blame. She will more than likely go to jail because of scam.
You only need to think about work at home opportunities and you will find a whole lot of scams coming up trying to sell you a list. Don’t do it. There are many places that post legitimate work at home jobs. Try work at home mom forums. Introduce yourself, meet people like you, who will be happy to point you toward the right direction. These lists are usually crap. You pay and IF they send you anything or send you to members room, all you will be most likely to find are out of date or broken links from companies no longer hiring. Everyone would like to work from home. When there posted in places for free people rush towards them, so how long do you think it is before the company has got the people they want and isn’t looking anymore?
The pyramid scheme or “matrix” is one of the oldest scams and against the law around most of the WORLD. A new variation is now on ebay. I’ve seen them all over. You type in ipod and thousands of listings come up. You will however notice some selling very cheaply, say $40. When you read up on it, you are told not to bid but go to this website or email the seller and find out how to get an ipod or playstation cheap or even free if you purchase things like mp3’s or ebooks from the site. You will usually see a list of names on a page. These are all people like you who have signed up for this “great deal”. You add your name to the list and your on the bottom of that list. You make purchases and get your name moved up. You can also move up faster if you recruit other people to sign up and purchase or sign up others, and on and on it goes. When your name gets to the top of the list, you usually will get the ipod, playstation, cellphone or whatever else it is that you signed up for. Now some do get the item. But this is still a pyramid scheme and many won’t even get the items they purchased or the free item they signed up for.
Tip! Rewarding ? few things are more rewarding than having your own successful work at home situation. Being completely in charge of your time and your paycheck, and wonderfully satisfying both requirements by being 100% in control, is a real eye-opening revelation for the average person.
Please feel free to add my article to your website, forum, blog, newsletters and other ventures if you leave it in full format. If used in a newsletter please send it to me that I may view where my work is going. Thank You.
Tip! Satisfying ? nothing is as satisfying and rewarding as creating your own situation in which you can work at home. Having both plenty of time and a very profitable and satisfying income is indeed a wonderful lifestyle.
New job seekers and veterans are buying them every day. What are they? “Wolf tickets”, better known as lies, false promises, scams. The strategies of saling them is becoming more clever everyday, infact they are much more clever than when I first started seeking work from home. I remember it like it was yesterday. Reading the ad, and sending my payment to start working from home. The first couple of weeks were filled with anxiousness, eagerness and anticipation. As the 3rd week came a sinking feeling begin to creep into my stomach, but I was still trying to hold on to hope as I checked the mail box everyday. Finally as the fourth week came and went, a feeling of disappointment overwhelmed me, followed by stress and anger as I begin to think about how some one had tricked me and took my money.
That was 1993, like many of you; I bought these lies many times since then, always hoping that this one would be the one. I’m sure the majority of home based job seekers have experienced all these feelings, and if you haven’t hopefully you never will. I was 19 yrs old when I bought my first wolf ticket, to process HUD refunds at home, they made it sound so simple and easy all I needed to do was send $40.00 for materials, but this money would be making a round trip, because I was suppose get it back plus the extra money I made when I started working. The tactic that the scammer used here is called Profiting from Power?Scammers will often use some kind of powerful company or agency like the government or Better Business Bureau in their ad, to deceive you into thinking they are a credible company.
? 2nd Tactic - Screening for Serious Candidates Only Tactic: This tactic is usually found at the end of the ad, it is made to appeal to your intelligence. It comes in the form of a registration, membership, or application fee. The following are 2 examples of how the sales pitch may be worded–
a. We must charge this one time fee to insure you’re serious in joining our program. Please understand we can not give access to just anyone just to satisfy their own curiosity. Our company will not charge you anymore fees. Once there are enough data entry workers, we may discontinue this offer at anytime.
b. We can ONLY allow so many members to do this work. Positions are very Limited IN ORDER TO GET STARTED IMMEDIATELY AND RECEIVE YOUR program, we require a one-time only registration fee of only $37 the one-time registration fee covers the cost of materials. Although we would like to send you our program without the small fee, we must protect ourselves. No business can afford to send out costly materials to everyone who asks for it. This small fee assures us that you are serious about wanting to earn money from home.
Tip! Check local colleges or vocational centers for training for work at home jobs. Occupations like medical transcription and billing, legal transcription, proofreading, and editing can be done at home, there is also the option of getting certified for a day care center.
? 3rd Tactic - Milk You Till You’re Dry Tactic: Before the internet, you would order your work from home kit. After, waiting for the mail person and sprinting to the mail box everyday, it finally arrives. You tare open the huge white envelope and there it is about ten sheets of paper stapled together, with a homemade cover. Thinking this can’t be it–you turn the envelope upside down and shake it. Accepting that this is it, You read it from cover to cover thinking you must have missed the section that tells you how to start, You read the last page again, your eyes zoom in on an invitation to send $25.00 for your start up kit and then the next time there’s an even better reason to send more money and it goes on and on.
Now, that the technology of the internet is here, scams now consist of paying an application fee, then after the application fee you need to pay a fee for the training material that will be sent via email as soon as you enter your credit card number into the order form. No, this is not up-selling, up-selling consist of the customer getting the product or service they paid for, then being offered another product or service to complement or give the original purchase added value. Please do not confuse this tactic with a legal business practice. It’s the same milk you till you’re dry tactic, but they are able to get your money quicker, and you can’t turn the computer upside down and shake it.
Tip! Don’t give up. It took me months to find a real work at home job, and I have still searched, either to see what else is out there, if there is something more I would like to do, if I could make more.
Today, Scammers are able to conceal there identities even more and reach an even wider source of people to prey on. Scammers have always had the same target market– they prey on; College Students, Senior Citizens, Moms and the disabled. Their biggest target market is stay at home moms, but in recent years this group has become schooled on scams, and have developed a network among each other to make sure one doesn’t slide by. With moms being equipped to fight scams, scammers are now trying to slither into the wallets of a new target.
Just remember–(AIR) because that’s what scammers are full of. Follow along with me in Wolf Tickets Part 2 as I break each word down for you and reveal the new target of Wolf Tickets.

This article is a continuation of Beware of “work from home” wolf tickets (Part 1). If you have not read it, you can read it here, telerepsathome.com/workfromhomewolftickets; I suggest you read it first. I will briefly highlight some points from part 1 to help you follow along.
In 1995 I begin to educate myself on these heartless home based job stealers; I started recognizing their identifying traits. I uncovered other resources that existed whom could give me details about the business practices of companies. Friends and family begin to come to me with questions about businesses and how to do further research on the vague company report given by the BBB. Back then, it was like a scavenger hunt trying to identify Wolf Tickets and finding resources that could help, but today this information is more prevalent than ever. Before we review how to resist wolf tickets, let’s talk about the 3 most common Wolf Tickets today.
The 3 most common Wolf Tickets being sold Today
? Data Entry Jobs:
Data Entry jobs are the most sought after job by work from home candidates. Scammers are aware of this. There are legit data entry jobs out there, but these are far and in-between. Use caution when applying for data entry jobs on and off-line. Ask other home based job seekers what companies they recommend.
? Mystery Shopping list:
Many ads claim to get you started with mystery shopping; you may or may not receive a list of companies. Mystery shopping jobs are very time sensitive. Assignments have to be done on the day specified. So, a list of jobs would not be beneficial. You can find companies and up-dated jobs at mysteryshop.org (Mystery Shopping Providers Association)
Tip! Profitable ? if you ask the average person to describe a situation in which they could comfortably work at home part-time and have a legitimate way to create an extra $30,000 to $300,000 per year working a couple of hours a day, not many can beat property scouting as a truly viable answer.
? Survey Web Sites:
Despite the hype, surveys are not a quick way to make a lot of money from home; a real research project may take 30 to 45 minutes to complete, paying you a whopping! $5 to $10. The most common method of payment for surveys are– gift certificates, products and points. Cash is seldom paid, if you do receive a check it is not enough to call an income. A lot of survey sites are just companies linked to affiliate companies that pay the web site owner just for you signing up, although you may never receive a market research assignment– you will get an inbox full of solicitations. People usually fill out surveys to get free stuff.
In Part 1 of wolf tickets we discussed three steps you need to take to resist these wolf tickets, Avoid, Identify, Report. These three steps formed the word (AIR) because this is what scammers are full of. Let’s see how you can apply these words in your home based job hunt.
1. Avoid- Wolf tickets by knowing the words that are printed on them.
? Easy Money
? No experience required
? Everyone Qualifies
? Offer of Unrealistic Pay Check (1,000.00 per wk)
? 1-800# with 20 different extensions which lead to the same company
2. Identify-Know how to identify Credible Jobs and Companies
? Real jobs do not center on how much you are paid, their main focus is finding the right candidate for the job.
? Web Site presence, because the site has a web presence it doesn’t mean it’s legit, but it’s better than just a P.O. Box. Look for? contact information– phone numbers, email address, and office location. Find out the number of years they have been in business. Identify the owner or President. Look for press information; Press Releases, Magazine Articles, etc?
Tip! Don’t give up. It took me months to find a real work at home job, and I have still searched, either to see what else is out there, if there is something more I would like to do, if I could make more.
? Start- up fees is not required, the exception to this rule is, some companies may require a fee for background checks or credit checks. But this usually comes after the interview and you know you have the job.
? Real Companies post jobs on job boards frequently visited by Candidates, they do not send you spam emails about this wonderful position they have. Email from a company, you did not apply for– is a red flag!

The 5 most targeted group of people
In Part 1 we identified the 4 most targeted groups of people, they were?
In Part 1, we also discussed that the biggest target market of this group is stay at home moms. However, since this group of people has become schooled on scams, Scammers are now trying to slither into the wallets of a new target. Who are they?
A new Target of Wolf Tickets
That new target is our teenagers. Teenagers are 5th on our list of the most targeted group of people. They are the new generation whom is falling prey to
Wolf Tickets, because of access to the internet our teenagers are being sucked in by scams. They get spam from them in their email box or a Pop- up from a website they frequent may entice them to get mom and dad’s credit card. These wolf tickets are enticing to teenagers because they are eager for Independence, and they believe that having their own money is going to give them that.
TeleRepsathome surveyed a group of teenagers, and the results were unnerving! Either they or their friends had encountered a work at home scam. When asked what they would do with the money– they thought they were going to make, the answers came pouring out; buy clothes, get a cell phone, buy fast food, get cds and the list goes on. Note to Parents: Start educating your teens about Scams.
Teach your teenagers the (AIR) Technique, since children learn better by doing here’s an exercise you can do together, this is an example of 2 real work from home scam ads, found in the local newspaper.
Body: Typing From Home. Data Entry Workers Needed!
Everyone Qualifies. No experience required
Now, you have your teen spot the red flags in Ad #1 and #2?
? Unrealistic Income
? Extremely Easy
? No Experience Needed
? Everyone Qualifies
Teenagers are the most naive out of the 5 most targeted groups of people, they are unaware that scams exist and oblivious to the strategies that are used. Here’s something to think about, when the teenagers were asked why they didn’t take the bait– the most common reply was, “because I did not have a credit card”. Not, because it was a scam.
Tip! Legitimate ? backed by a well-respected multi-million dollar US corporation, there’s no question that the company and scouting are both as legitimate as legitimate gets, and should be seriously considered as a viable work at home opportunity. Scouting is very a well-respected profession.
TeleRepsathome is your Inside Source for jobs in the hottest telecommuting job market today, the Teleservices industry. Telecommuters may also access a wide variety of other jobs, new jobs are posted weekly for the US and Canada. If you are new to telecommuting or would like to find a flood! Of jobs in one place.
Did you know that you have an untapped source of revenue at your very fingertips? It’s true, but there’s no need to look too far for it because that source of revenue is you! If you’re ready to uncover the hidden skills inside you and leave the rat race of work-at-home job boards behind, then you’re definitely in the right place.
The key to your success as a telecommuteris that you need to understand how very easy it can be to become full-time employed from home without having to fight the masses of other work-at-home wannabes. The key is in coming to the right employers with a pre-packaged set of very specific services to offer based upon your core strengths and skills. Instead of waiting for jobs to pop up on the internet, where you’ll have to compete with thousands of other jobseekers just to get the job, you need to understand that to become a truly professional contractor, you can bring your set of skills to the hiring table to create your own jobs! When you know what to say to employers and how to offer your defined services in answer to their needs, you can begin writing your own ticket.
Tip! Rewarding ? few things are more rewarding than having your own successful work at home situation. Being completely in charge of your time and your paycheck, and wonderfully satisfying both requirements by being 100% in control, is a real eye-opening revelation for the average person.
When thinking about your core strengths and skills. Additionally, you need to think about very specific applications for the skills you already have and not the vague and generalized lists of skills that are so often placed on resumes.
Your goal is threefold:
1. Create a list of your most specific skills.
Assess your core strengths. What do you do really well? In previous jobs, what do employers count on you for time and time again? What kind of jobs really inspire you and get you motivated to give your best? Be sure to think through all of your abilities and list them all no matter whether you think it relevant or not at this point.
2. Connect your specific skills to pre-planned services.
To begin writing your own ticket, you will need to create an inventory of services that you can provide to customers. Rather than responding to their job ads, you can go to a business and present your specific services. Soon enough, businesses will be coming to you rather than the other way around. Believe it or not, when you tie your core strengths to specialized services, you become an incredibly hot commodity. No longer are you competing with the countless masses scurrying around for the work-at-home scraps, you’ve become a legitimate business in yourself.
3. Locate the right customers who want your services.
This step is definitely the key that brings it all together: you must find clients who need your services (whether they know they need them at this point or not). If you’re wondering how to go about doing this, the answer is simple: Research and trial-and-error!
Once you’ve created your specific set of services, it’s time to research any and all of the potential clients within your field of expertise and/or who might need your service. Once you’ve found your demographic, it’s time to convince these businesses how working with you can benefit them.
For example, if you have a strong skill set as a desktop publisher and you’ve designed a host of services that help small businesses create a more professional image (e.g., through letterhead, fliers, signage, advertisements), then you can begin by simply targeting small businesses in your community. If you have a pre-packaged proposal that lays out the benefits of improved marketing and presentation materials to small businesses, samples of your work, a pricing plan, and an implementation strategy, you can quickly convince many small business owners right in your own community that they need you and your services.
Tip! Check local colleges or vocational centers for training for work at home jobs. Occupations like medical transcription and billing, legal transcription, proofreading, and editing can be done at home, there is also the option of getting certified for a day care center.
It takes hard work, preparation, and courage, but?if you really apply your strengths with what you love to do?you can create a business for yourself that allows you to serve others while helping yourself build your own dreams. What are you waiting for? Your success begins today!
